This is a head I built to keep me busy over winter break! I had some fur and foam scraps to work with, and this is what came out of it. I tried working in a semi-realistic to realistic style, despite the color choice. It's actually more of a mask than a full head, as the back piece is simply fabric and the fox face projects forward right off of the wearer's face. Best of all, I can wear my glasses in this!
This head has five different types of fur on it, along with felt for the nose, ear and mouth lining, and gums. The teeth are made from Sculpey polymer clay. The eyes are 'follow-me' style, made out of plastic half-globes with irises made out of paper with colored pencil detail. The jaw moves with the mouth, and vision is from just beneath the eyes. The base of the frame is clothes hanger wire, plastic mesh, and some foam padding. Very lightweight and breathable! It's got a pink felt tongue too, which I forgot to put in place for the picture.
This cutie will eventually go up for sale. I like it so much that I've been hesitating to list it!
Thanks! The nose is a piece of black felt, originally in an almost semicircle shape. You just put a few folds in it and do a little poking and prodding to get it to look like that.
